 Coming to help before the governments at the Marmara Earthquake , both Turkish and Greek citizens acted as leaders in these matters. But regarding their disaster which occured right after the one in Turkey I have believed that we have left almost everything to our government and have not done enough. Situation as being so I took the first step today and decided to present the letter bellow to the Greek Embassy. They were quite pleased and told me that this was the only personal act in this sense.I would like to thus warn our citizens , who seem still under the shock of their own grief and let them also help others in distress(when will we have the chance to show them our brotherhood for the ones they have shown us)

I would like to thank you for running to our help at the earthquake that struck our country on August 17th 1999.

We have been brought up with our leader Atatürks saying such as “We need to consider the world as a body and all it citizens its organs. A body will be affected by a wound in one of its fingers. If there is uneasiness in one part of the world , then we cannot turn the other cheek.If there is a problem then we should take care of it as if it was our own”.

People who die in war are said to be going to heaven. But what happens to the ones that are trying to prvent the wars before they begin , what happens to “warriors of brotherhood”.

I would prefer for my grave stone to say “Has died in the war at trying to form a brotherhood with the neighbouring country and went to.....” rather then “Has died in the war with the neighbouring countryand has gone to heaven.” I think that the creator would have prefered this also for the road to him goes through the Universe.

 Even though it was less then the one in our country I would like to state that we are by your side while going through the terrible stages and eventhough it is late I would like to make a donation of 100.000.000.- TL to the casuallties of the earthquake.

 I would like to say that“We are all children of the same Creator, thus brothers” “My birth place is Turkey and my country the World”and would like to share the happiness as well as the grief. With this donation I hope that as well as recovering the ones that are under building with the earthquake, I also hope it will help to reunite the brotherhood of our countries that will come out of the ruins in History.
